Acceptability of CE Courses (as published by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing - the DOPL) is left to the discretion of the licensee as to appropriateness of the course to the license and the practice. We are an NBCC ACEP which meets all applicable criteria.

However, please be aware that on page 3 of this referenced document, item (c) states that "a maximum of 10 hours per two year period may be recognized for distance learning, clinical readings, or internet-based courses directly related to practice as a clinical mental health counselor unless otherwise approved by the Division."

NOTE: Licensees may wish to contact the DOPL to explore flexibility in this issue: It is possible that in this day of tight personal economics, the DOPL might consider approval of more than 10 hours of interactive electronic internet based training - particularly when provided by an NBCC ACEP who is also certified/licensed for CE by the following licensing and certification boards:

Acceptability of CE Courses (as published by the Marriage and Family Therapy licensing board and the DOPL) is left to the discretion of the licensee as to appropriateness of the course to the license and the practice. We are an NBCC ACEP which meets all applicable criteria as set forth in the Utah CE regulations.

However, this referenced document limits internet-based courses for LMFTs to 15 hours per renewal period. PLEASE SEE OUR NOTE ABOVE UNDER MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS, re the possibility of approaching your board for flexibility regarding internet limitations.

For Utah Social Workers, based upon the published criteria for acceptable CE, as seen in the Utah Social Worker Licensing Act Rules, our courses and certifications [by national and state social work and other Boards] meet the requirements for CE Credit. The rules state:

3) Continuing education under this section shall:

(a) be relevant to the licensee's professional practice;

(b) be prepared and presented by individuals who are qualified by education, training, and experience to provide social work continuing education; and

(c) have a method of verification of attendance.

.... and which are approved by, conducted by or under sponsorship of:

(iv) professional associations, societies and organizations representing a licensed profession whose program objectives relate to the practice of social work.

NOTE: CEU By Net meets all published criteria for acceptability of CE course content and process. Please see the list of Boards and Associations for which we are a licensed CE Provider, under the Mental Health Counselor section.
