Hawaii now requires Continuing Education for some behavioral health providers.
Social Workers: The Hawaii licensing board and laws for Social Workers requires 45 hours of CE per renewal cycle. HOWEVER, ALL 45 HOURS MUST BE FACE-TO-FACE. We are ONLINE ONLY, no face-to-face CE.
Marriage and Family Therapists: The Hawaii state board and the laws for MFTs in Hawaii have pre-approved courses provided by NBCC Approved CE Providers. CEU By Net is an approved CE Provider for NBCC, ACEP #6338. MFTs take all of our courses.
Mental Health Counselors: Hawaii does not yet require continuing education for Mental Health Counselors. If they do begin to require CE, the requirement would most likely pre-approve courses provided by NBCC Approved CE Providers, as the MFT law now approves. We are a certified NBCC CE Provider #6338.
Regarding Substance Abuse and Addiction Counselors: We are not clear about CE requirements. However, we are an approved Licensed CE Provider for an IC&RC Member Board, Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals, and thus our courses are acceptable for all Branches of the US Military for substance abuse CE, and by most State AOD licensure boards. We are also a Licensed CE Provider for Texas Association of Addiction Professionals, which is automatically approved by NAADAC to provide CE Credit. Please check with your board to determine if other IC&RC Member Boards are approved CE Providers. We are ONLINE ONLY, no face-to-face CE.
